Citizen M

The Citizen M project located at 1222 First Street NE Washington DC is a unique hotel where each room was a prefabbed stackable unit. The building was constructed as a typical concrete podium with one floor below ground and two above grade, but then changed to having the shear walls and elevator shafts being constructed freestanding full height prior to the installation of the PODS. Once the PODS were in place, two floors of concrete slab on metal deck were added on top. More than 4000 cubic yards of concrete were placed through the various stages of construction.
